Top 10 Essential Google Chrome Apps(Repost from Lockergnome.com) Google Chrome has grown quickly in 2011, both the browser in popularity and its expansive app store, which features both apps and extensions to bring further functionality and usability to the light and fast browser. Having used Google Chrome since its infant stages, I’ve watched it grow and become increasingly streamlined and sleek. Its introduction in the very late part of 2010 gave way to the browser to grow in 2011 with the added functionality for developers to create mind-blowing extensions. With millions of Google Chrome users out there, the store has had time to settle in and give us an accurate standpoint on the top apps offered in the store. Below, I’ve listed some of my top essential Google Chrome apps that you might find of great use and should consider giving a try. - HELP FIND A MISSING RESCUE DOG! (McHENRY, IL. AREA)

The Learning Network over on The New York Times posted this last November but I think it's worth revisiting. I guess you've guessed I love robotics
Lesson Plan - A problem -based learning activity in which students design robots to address real-world challenge "Five Reasons for a Federal Ban on Texting or Talking While Driving" - Not with you on this oneI responded to a post over at Lockergnome concerning someone's 5 reasons why cellphones should be banned. This is my opinion as of now and it's not to say that something compelling couldn't change it. But I am not an extremist person. I don't believe in a concept like, since their are some kids who don't know how to behave in the public pool we should ban public pools from all kinds. Anyway this is what I wrote and I hope I made some sense. It's just my opinion right now and not intended to attack or offend anyone who may have been a victim of someone talking on a cellphone while driving: Five Reasons for a Federal Ban on Texting or Talking While DrivingMy comment: I'm not sure if the idea that driving is a privilege is necessarily true. It may be for some but such as myself it's a necessity. I live in Chicago and even with our public transportation I have to drive to work because of the distance. I've been working at my job for almost 20 years and to leave because of the distance especially in this economy would be crazy. Also I agree with the bans issued concerning not talking with the phone up to your ear and texting but to ban phones period sounds more like overkill from people, especially victims of accidents, who are just frustrated because they just can't get through to people who don't use common sense. My reason for not backing this decision is because you're never going to change these people. These are the people who will stop their vehicle in the middle of the highway because they missed their exit, the people who will rush across three lanes to get to a ramp, people who will cut in front of your car just inches to make a point that you weren't speeding enough so they can speed, people who eat in their car, people who blast their music and not hear the sirens, people who rush past a city bus because they can't handle being behind it to only move one car in front of it, people who crash into cars because they're riding so close you may be able to feel their breath on your neck and this also go for the ones who may not necessarily ride your vehicle so close but close enough that if their was a crash it's inevitable they are going to hit the driver in front of them. I can go on about what many of us shouldn't do but to say that not allowing people to use a speaker/mic system in their car or Bluetooth headset (I say Bluetooth because I don't think there should be cords attached to you while you're driving) is punishing those who are responsible and who use that time to communicate and accomplish many things that can't be accomplished because we do live in a society where most of our time is spent at work or traveling from and to. Those minutes in a car talking to a love one may be the very thing that helps them wind down for the day or whoever. As someone said earlier, there are narcissist among us. I keep hearing about a driver who crashed using a speaker phone system. How often has this happened, I'm sure not often enough, but I would bet that that person would have had the same outcome if they were arguing with an actual person in the car. If you crash talking on a speaker phone, there's something deeper going on & maybe their vehicle use should be suspended all together.I understand that their are people who have suffered, I've lost relatives because of drunk driving, something that didn't make since from the beginning but living in a city like Chicago, I've seen many more disturbing things as opposed to someone with both hands on the wheel and seemingly talking to themselves in their car. If there was one thing I'd do, it would be to put signs up reminding people to park and get out if they want to gasp over Lake Michigan or Buckingham Fountain, stop riding the a** of that car in front of you, stop doing 20 in a 40mph zone, and the list goes on. It's about bringing to peoples attention all the rules of driving, not comparing cell phones to drunk driving because with cellphones throughout the process you always have a choice.Just my opinionUp Up Down...DNA
